In the first decade of the 20th century, Zakopane was one of the most significant points on the map of Polish high society. Artists and influential figures would gather here for the season. Marilor was then the most renowned salon in Zakopane, a hub of social life. It hosted the crème de la crème—anyone who wished to belong to the prominent society had to be seen here.
After the war, the Antoni Kenar Fine Arts High School found its home in Marilor. Currently, the historic Villa Marilor houses the Marilor Restaurant, which, after restoration, captivates with its bright interiors adorned with Zakopane accents and a cuisine inspired by the richness of local ingredients.
